How we pick web hosting
Besthostlab is an independently-run review site for web hosting. We publish curated picks, field notes, and renewal-price math so the host you sign up with at $2.99/mo isn't a surprise when it renews at $11.99/mo.
Three things we promise
Hosting reviews are a crowded space, and most of it is affiliate-fueled noise. We hold ourselves to three rules.
Independent picks
We're not a hosting reseller. Affiliate links pay for our coffee — they don't change which hosts we recommend.
Real renewal pricing
The number that matters is what you pay year two. We publish both the intro rate and the renewal rate side-by-side.
Prices kept current
Hosting prices change constantly. We re-check every provider each quarter, so the numbers you see aren't quotes from two years ago.
Where our numbers come from
No mystery score. Every figure on this site is pulled, logged, and refreshed by hand — here's exactly how.
Straight from the source
We pull pricing from each host's own checkout and terms pages — not from press releases, ads, or other review sites.
Intro and renewal, both logged
For every plan we record the introductory rate and the year-two renewal rate, along with setup fees and the refund window.
Re-checked and date-stamped
We revisit each provider every quarter and stamp the date on what we publish, so you always know how fresh a number is.
Why we built this
We got tired of "best hosting" lists that read like ad placements — where the provider at the top was just the one paying the biggest commission, not the one actually worth using.
So we built the opposite. Besthostlab recommends only the hosts we'd sign up for ourselves, pulls its numbers straight from the source, and shows its work — so the verdict is something you can check, not just take on faith.
What we cover
Three places to find what you need.
