HostGator email pricing: Professional Email, cPanel, and renewal costs

HostGator email pricing depends on which email product you are buying. Professional Email powered by Titan and paid cPanel Email have different plans and billing structures. An existing hosting account may also have its own entitlements. Start with the product name in your account, not a generic promise that hosting includes email.

For an existing customer, the next amount in the Renewal Center is the figure to budget. Public introductory prices help compare a new purchase, but they do not replace an account-specific renewal quote.

Published Professional Email prices

The following USD figures are published in HostGator’s Professional Email product overview, checked September 21, 2026. They are reference rates for the listed terms, before any applicable taxes or account adjustments. Confirm the mailbox quantity and final total when ordering.

A one-year charge is not a monthly charge. For example, the published $29.99 annual Pro renewal is about $2.50 per month when divided by 12; paying the listed $2.99 monthly rate for 12 months would total $35.88. The two figures represent different billing choices.

The Professional Email sales page lets buyers choose mailbox quantity and explains that promotional pricing applies to the first invoice. Use the cart to establish the actual order total. Do not multiply a headline price without first checking whether the displayed total already includes your selected quantity.

Paid cPanel Email is a separate product

HostGator’s cPanel Email purchase instructions describe Basic for 3–10 mailboxes, Plus for 11–20, and Premium for unlimited mailboxes. The instructions point customers to the account’s cPanel Email tab for plan pricing and to the Renewal Center for renewal rates. They do not provide a single public price that should be applied to every hosting account.

If you already use cPanel email, ask what happens to existing addresses, storage, and access when changing the plan. A paid upgrade screen alone does not establish that every older account has the same terms. Save your current entitlement and renewal information before making a comparison.

Build the bill around actual mailboxes

Write down which people require a separate login and which addresses can be aliases or shared workflows under the chosen product. A two-person business with six public email addresses does not automatically need six independent mailboxes. Equally, routing every address into the owner’s inbox may create an operational bottleneck that costs more than another account.

Compare annual totals with these items kept separate:

• Recurring email subscription and the number of billable accounts.
• Domain registration and renewal.
• Any website hosting you still need.
• Backup, retention, or security features that are separately charged.
• One-time migration work and an overlap period with the old provider.

Storage is another useful filter. Look at current usage and growth before selecting a larger mailbox. If most storage is a decade of attachments, decide whether those messages must remain searchable in the live mailbox or whether your retention policy permits an archive elsewhere. Do not delete business records just to fit a lower-priced plan.

Do you need website hosting too?

You can buy domain email without running a website. Keeping a hosting subscription solely because your address uses the domain may therefore be unnecessary—but first check whether that subscription currently supplies DNS, email, or files you still need. For a useful comparison with another provider, request the same mailbox count, storage, billing term, and migration scope. Compare the second invoice as well as the first. A lower introductory total is valuable only if the service remains suitable when it renews.
